Christian Education

For children and youth ages 5 through 17

"Let these children come to me and do not hinder them! To them belongs God's Kingdom."

Incarnation values children and honors their unique and special spiritual world.

Jesus tells us that children live and move in an orbit very close to God. Young children know God in ways that we have forgotten. We strive to nurture their native curiosity about God, the earth and friendship. Joy and laughter are signs that the Bible stories are coming alive. Celebrating God's love is noisy and fun! Children learn in different ways, so our curricula remain flexible and open. In partnership with parents and friends of God we rejoice that seeds of faith are being planted each week.

Older children use imagination and personal experiences to explore the ways that God is reaching out to them in real time.

In a safe and accepting environment our youth experience the spiritual building blocks of their lives. Faith, trust and gratitude will become the foundation of Good News that sustains them in an unsteady world. Gathered with friends and mentors, children begin to fashion the commitments and values that define who they are and how they hope to live.

Classes begin at 9:45 a.m. (except during the summer months).

Children join the 10:00 a.m. liturgy after the Prayers of the People and lead us in the Exchange of Peace.

Elementary(ages 5-12)

We deepen friendships and discover that Bible stories are really about us.

ADULT FORMATION offers opportunities for growth and fellowship.

Adult Forum meets on Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. (except during the summer)

Lively and wide-ranging discussions strive to make sense of biblical stories, current events, being Episcopalians, interfaith dialogue, the challenging world of theology and other thought-provoking and spiritually nourishing topics. Questions and searching are valued! The atmosphere is ripe for casual conversations, exploration and, on occasion, even laughter!
